Sorry for not updating but I have been busy at work. Everyday is such a long routine. Dear works longer hours- I finish at 6 while he finish the earliest at 7.30. So, a bit hard for us to meet up on weekdays.
But on wed, Dear came to find me and we met at Ikea. It was raining heavily and I was touched that he biked through the rain and sent me home in the rain after dinner despite knowing that he will have to let me wear his rain coat and that he will get drenched badly. Ikea is about 3 bus stops distance from my work place and I had to walk through the heavy rain to get to it. No straight bus goes there from my workplace although it is only 3 bus stops away as Ikea is located at the turn of the junction. We had meatballs, yum! Missed Dear and I complaint to him about work, haha. It's nice to be able to talk to him in person instead of only over the phone at night everyday.

I have been out on 2 food tasting trips and so far doing fine dining is still a bit intimating to me because the people always comment so professionally on the food and me, being only a green horn, simply does not know how to add on to the conversation. But I admit it was an eye opening experience though. I had a go at molecular gastronomy, which really does not really suit my palate. The second food tasting of Aussie cuisine was better, but it was also at this restaurant where I was looked down on by the manager and chef because I was only an intern. The irony is that I'm the one who will be writing the review, not my snior who followed me down. They were super nice to her. Well well, that's just life for you. I hope that I'll be more at ease soon and really have to brush up on my food knowledge. Hope I'll get to go on tastings alone soon. Senior always dominate the conversations with other ppl and doesn't really help me to blend in. Though I'll be nervous but if I'm alone, I'll be forced to talk to avoid any awkward silence. And that, I feel, will help me blossom a lot as a food journalist cos I'll dare to ask more and talk more without worrying abt looking stupid in front of Senior and the rest.
Spend yesterday at Dear's hse to just hang out together. We had to Bedok's 85 market for dinner and we sure had a feast there! Dear always eats the bak chor mee when he visits the market. But I want to try other food too. It is such a big and famous market and it makes no sense if we dun try the other stalls. Does no justice to the good food there, haha.
As a sidenote, I just found a great chicken rice stall at the market at my workplace, ABC market. The chilli is spicy and the chicken is soft and juicy while the rice is very fragrant. What scores big points with me is that when you order takeaway, the chilli they packed is a lot! They fill up three quarter of the plastic packet with chilli. For a super chilli lover like me who especially can't do without chicken rice chilli when eating chicken rice, it's great enjoyment. Hee.
