dinner anyone?

Finally something really happy that I can blog about. I spent the weekend with Dear, going to his hse and we having dinner with my frens. When you lack sleep, you have sleep debt and you need to sleep more to pay it back. I think I'm suffering from Dear's debt and the weekend was great in repaying Dear's debt, haha.

We went to Bedok 85 market to eat (as usual) and got to witness a drama regarding the chicken wing stall. That place is really quite a happening place and I dun mean that only in terms of food, hee. And stupid Dear's strategy work, I'm really looking forward to continue playing my Harry Potter game. And that means- traveling all the way to the far east to Dear's hse. Sian.

Finally we got to go to church, I missed it so much. And silly Dear tried to grab a fast lunch but turned out that it was not that fast after all. And we were disturbed by a grp of youngsters that were quite noisy and Dear almost wanted to go ask them to shut up. Was quite touched at his gesture because 'they are not showing respect for the pastor'. But I didn't recognise their faces, dun think they belonged to the Chinese service.

My fren's bdae is coming up and I organised a bdae dinner for her at Bugis. Since there was nothing much to eat at Bugis (despite being newly renovated with more food outlets), Dear announced his preference to eat his fav Sakae Teppanyaki. I didn't have much expectations of the evening but the waiter/supervisor really made my evening a great one. It was definitely one of the best dining experiences I ever had, except perhaps besides the fine dining places that I went last time during work.

Seriously, after always lamenting on how terrible the service standard can be, it is refreshing to see one service staff that was quite funny and with a sincere attitude to serve. I'm not saying it's the fault of those young part-timers that they are lousy but if the restaurants had put some effort in staff training, the standard can be improved a lot. So what if most staff are part-timers? On the job training can be fast and just telling the new part timers some basic protoccol that they can follow.

Anyway, we were all queueing to wait for a table and we waited quite long. But we didn't really mind the wait cos we were standing around and talking anyway. The supervisor (Ryan-cos I saw his name tag) came out and said: "How abt our compensate ur, I help ur take a photo?". Duh. So the smart aleck in the grp asked if we'll get a discount. And surprisingly, he said yes and later told us that we'll get a 10% off our bill.

Cool right? Since when has a restaurant give a discount because the customers waited too long? I don't know if he has a right to do that, but it was cool and hey, who dun like to save money, haha. He was quite a funny guy, those kind of good ah bengs and even told us to tell him if the chef is not good, right in front of the chef.

I just realised my passport is going to be overdue soon. Dear said he'll bring me to make a new one. Yippie! HK coming up!

And Mayday is having a concert on 19/4 at Genting!!!! Wow! Seriously considering to go. So near yet so far. The most expensive tix is RM450 and factor in transport and accomodation, this seemingly short trip costs a certain amt too. And somemore we are going HK in late may. And somemore rumours are they will have a concert in late April in SG. But if dun go, like so wasted! Just over in Genting! I was so excited that I could hardly sleep!

Just sent in my application form to SPH. Cross my fingers!

I took this pic at NYDC Bugis becos it's so cute. Dear called me childish, hmph.

O darling, wat do you want for dinner?
