Geylang eating

After tempting Dear so much with durians at Geylang, I managed to get him to bring me to the area for dinner. But we don't really know which are the better eating places so we walked quite a long stretch before settling on the famous beef hor fun.

Quite a lot off ppl eating there

The beef hor fun was not bad but nothing too fantastic. Definitely not worth a special trip just to eat it. We also ordered cereal chicken, Dear quite liked it but I think it can be much better. The cereal was very aromatic but there was no tinge of spiciness that shld have been there by the chilli padi. A little disappointing for me.

After dinner, it was the most exciting part that Dear had waited for. Durians!

We went to this stall called 'Wonderful Durians'. Look at Dear trying to buy a durian back for us!
And how did he bring the durian back to our table? Not with his bare hands, he is not so tough. But with a basket! So funny to see Dear walking back with a white basket and a durian inside rolling around. Such an uncle moment!

Part of the fun of eating durians in Geylang is the al freso nature and joy of tossing ur empty durian shells and durian seeds without any wives or mothers screaming at u for dirtying the house.
Such fun comes at a price too. When we were eating, we saw a police car came to take down the number plates of illegally parked cars. Luckily I insisted that Dear parked his bike properly at a car park so that we can eat without any worries of being fined.
The fleshy yellow durian that so captivated Dear. Our durian that night had a tinge of bitterness in the aftertaste. Although I dun really like bitter durians, the durian was quite good.
I can just imagine Dear drooling now.
