food and dog

I met Dear in the evening after his work. I was out with another fren and we shopped finished earlier than expected. In the end, I had to wait 3 long hours for him. I'm impressed with myself.

When I finally get to meet Dear, it was already 8pm plus. We settled for dinner at this little food stall at Taka.

Clockwise from top: Dear's sausage patter, sinful calamari and my red chilli pesto spaghetti

I've always wanted to try this stall so it's one eating place down, haha. Regretfully, the food was not too nice except for one of Dear's sausage and the calamari. The apple crumble that came along with the set as dessert was quite decent too.

The other day, after slacking with Dear at Kallang Leisure Park, we went to East Coast Park to eat. Another food place down as I've always wanted to visit the food centre at ECP. Dear must be so happy to read that 2 more places are down on my list, haha.

Quite a nice al fresco area to dine at: sea, sand, wind

I wanted to eat sambal stingray and by accident, ordered from the stall that supposedly is a hawker legend and was given three stalls by makan sutra. Excitedly I placed my orders.

Plus point that the auntie at the stall was quite friendly. I hate those famous hawkers that have a sucky attitude. We call them the food nazis. Bleah.

Oyster omelette: It was my first time eating the version where the oysters are on top and sauce is poured over the dish. Not too bad, I love eggs so I was happy with the thick fluffy omelette they served up. Dear said that the oysters were fresh. And he said oysters are good for ahem, piang piang. Wonder if it's true. *shrugs*

I dun eat oysters. But the oysters look so fat and succulent! Looks yummy and juicy!

The stingray: Unique that they placed ladies fingers on top though I'm not very sure wat they do to enhance the dish. Sambal sauce is quite dry, but not bad. Fish is pretty succulent. Ok lah, haha.

Dear just like to eat satay: Wat can I say, the fat Dear had cravings for satay. Not bad. But it was quite distressing to see so many satay stalls lining up side by side and promoting their business.

Big big coconut: But not too sweet. Dear was disappointed with it. : (

It was terrible trying to find a parking lot at ECP and when we finally found one, I saw a van of traffic wardens at the car park taking down car plate numbers. Lucky I told Dear. First time I see so many traffic wardens out doing their work! That shld tell u abt the seriousness of illegal parking in ECP.

Don't you just think that he is so cute? Haha, I saw this movie poster at Kallang Leisure Park and couldn't resist taking a photo of it and then forcing Dear to take a photo with it. Aww. I dun think I need to say more, if u are not melted by this furry cutie, I rest my case. *_^

It was our first time at the new shopping mall so it was quite fun exploring the place. And we did something very silly. We were so free and slack that we act sat at the arcade to watch a guy spending tens of dollars to catch a Bambi doll for his gf.

It was so funny to see him throw so much money and failing to catch the toy every time.

We tried our luck to see if we can win any toys (in case Dear's toy-catching luck was still with him) but sob, we failed.

But if u wan to catch any toys, u can go there and try ur luck. The arcade seems quite generous, quite a few ppl won toys there. And u noe the pushing sweets machine when u have to push a box down to collect the prize? Dear's fav hobby seems to be telling these ppl who have pushed the box down to look for the staff to claim the prize. Duh.

Hai, why were we the unlucky ones? I also wan toys!
