food

Lazy Dear has gone to bed and here I'm surfing round and listening to music in solitude. Kinda cool haha.

I've never realised that I have so much more energy than Dear although he used to work and study at the same time. Dear has been sleeping earlier than me so often nowadays.

Anyway, we went to the newly opened Waruku at Heeren the previous although I told Dear that we didn't really like the food when we tried the food at Central. But Dear wanted to eat Jap food. So we ate there and ended up paying quite a huge bill for mediocre food.

Took a photo of the I-forgot-what-name-is-it but it's baked cheese with crab.

And we went to Geylang one day for dinner to try the famous Lorong 27 Hokkien Mee and Satay.

Not that fantastic in our opinon but at least it was a new eating place.

The serving of the Hokkien Mee was quite small and it was also quite difficult to get seats in the small coffee shop. Luckily Dear was with me, felt kind of weird eating with all the uncles.

The good thing about the Hokkien Mee was the prawns. First time I see tiger prawns in Hokkien Mee.

And the satay which was supposed to be quite famous too. Nothing too much to shout about. The bad thing was that the satays were quite charred.

I think it's gimmicky. Super big Satay. As you can see almost as tall as the Coke can and it costs $1 I think if I never rem wrongly. I told Dear isn't the idea of satay similar to Jap teriyaki?

Interesting how diff cultures have similar traits in food even though we live differently miles apart from each other. I'm intrigued.
