USS

For my birthday, Dear brought me to Universal Studios. It was SO hot that day that my face was plastered with sweat the whole day. Nontheless it was a day of fun and exploration.

Don't think any parent will want to come here.

One of the characters along the street to take photos with the passerbys. Love his elastic expression.
After walking through the first land, we stopped for breakfast. With some bodyguards to protect us, hehe.

An old American style cafe.

We shared a burger set, which tasted normal. As it was newly opened, the themepark gave us some food and shopping vouchers. They definitely came in very handy.
After breakfast, we continued on our exploration.
Love the old streets of New York. Immediately gave me the thoughts that it will be so cool to take wedding photos here.

The first attraction we went to: Steven Speiburg's directed disaster tutorial. Note the ugly industrial setting of the queue area. Wonder if it was done on purpose to go with the idea that we are going into a film studio.

And we continued in New York...

Anyone wants to take the subway?

The battle galactic rollercoaster that is still down.

And we arrived at Egypt where the mascots are allowed to be half naked as they walk on the streets, haha
We took the mummy ride which was quite cool. I noticed that all the rides are all quite short.
Then, we came to Jurassic Park: where the mascot is a park ranger standing with a mechanical toy dino, duh.

This is where the funniest incident of the day took place.
We wanted to take a "monorail" ride that swings you around in the air. We walked towards it (or so we thought we did) and when we came to the entrance of the ride, Dear asked the attendant if the ride is scary.

She said no and after a pause, she added that some kids have reflected that the ride was a little scary.
So we happily thought that it should be all rite for us and walked through the ride. Only then we realised that we had came to this dino merry go round ride instead. *_*
My favourite land in the themepark. It's the only one that really gives u a magical feeling.

I also want a garden like that in my future house!

And Gingy was drunk when we were there. Tsk tsk.
And our lunch in the Goldilocks cafe. The chicken was a little salty.

Then we went to watch the water show.
It had so much explosives that I wondered if parents will have cold sweat when their children watch the show.
The show was pretty boring in my opinon.
And the last land, Madagascar. We didn't see any mascots here. Which was so wasted!
After a tiring and hot day in the theme park, Dear brought me to Hong Leong Gardens for dinner.

I love the simple decor of the place; it's like I'm stepping into Japan. The restaurant is run by a family. They have newspapers and comics lying around for you to just pick them up at read. There is a laid back atmosphere that makes you really feel at home here.
But perhaps it can be too laid back at times. It takes extremely slow for the food to be served because everything is prepared only when the guest is seated.
So we reached the restaurant at 7pm and left around 10pm, I think. But somehow, I just felt very contented sitting there and catching up on my newspapers reading while waiting.
Maybe I'm in a good mood that day or I'm just so into chilling nowadays haha.
We sat at the counter, in our own little world.

Dear's hambug set. It's not bad. The food here has a home cooked Jap feel cos the chef is an obasan.

My tempura prawns. Oishi! The prawns were big and juicy. I only wished there was some sauce for the rice.
Our side order which took forever to come. It came after we finished our sets. It was not bad.
And desserts. Quite a refreshing end to the meal.

Even now, I'm still thinking of the place from time to time. Love the chill out feeling while waiting for food in mini Japan.

But I think the food is slightly overpriced. If only we can have unlimited money. hehe.
