Chock Full of Beans

This place got my attention when I saw the cute latte art on its coffee on my friend's FB. They are the first ones to draw Angry Birds on their coffee! (you can make a special request for the barista to whip up the bird).

A curious check on Google seems to suggest that this place serves yummy coffee and food in the tranquil setting of Changi Village. And all for a pretty reasonable price.

It almost sounds too good to be true. I finally got Dear to visit it last weekend and now it is my other favourite brunch place besides the Coastal Settlement, which is also located in Changi.

There's a counter table in the middle of room with very comfy high stools. So it's ok if you can't get a table for your group.

Our latte. Such a cute bear rite?! And we were going to watch the movie Ted that afternoon, lol.

What I also liked is that the biscuit accompanying the coffee is very nice. The sweetness of caramel ooze on on the first bite and the after notes tasted like the 旺仔小鏝頭 that we so loved as a kid.

The biscuit is also sold at the counter for 30cents a piece. It is also apparently sold in supermarkets here. I must go and look for it!

Another shot of the bear because it is so cute. We left the coffee untouched for a while because we couldn't bear to destroy the art.

I had the mango bacon sandwich. Interesting combination. The mango takes away some of the heaviness of eating bacon. I wished there were more slices of the mango.

Dear said this is the best food photo he has taken, haha. He had the portobello eggs benedict, which he loved. We like the earthy flavours of portobello mushrooms and it's a healthier option than the regular benedict toppings.

And it was priced at $12, cheaper than the usual eggs benedict and more value for money!

While the East does not have much brunch places, the ones that set up shop do serve up good food and ambiance. I would have never envisioned finding such gems in Changi.

The best part is because they are so far out on the eastern side of Singapore, you don't need to jostle the crowds for a leisurely brunch. Yeah!
