Sydney- Day 4

Sydney- Day 4

It is our last morning in the treehouse. So we decided to leave a note in their guestbook. Or rather, I assigned Dear to write the note, lol.

Preparing breakfast with a nice view.

I really like the hut feel of the place.

Simple scrambled eggs and toasted almonds for breakfast. My first time preparing scrambled eggs!

After bidding farewell to our hosts, we continued the road trip to Hunter Valley.

Making our first pit stop in the long drive to Hunter Valley.

Anywhere also can see nice scenery.

Of cos must have snacks for the long drive!

The last pit stop before entering Hunter Valley.

And here we are! We love the gentle flowing slopes and grass fields in Hunter Valley. It's a beautiful place though there's nothing much to do haha.

First thing we did in Hunter Valley is to check into our accommodation for the night. Yes, this whole cabin is ours for the night (that's our car right beside the cabin), and it is located right smack in a vine yard!

I am going to bombard you with photos of the interior because this is my favorite accommodation of the trip!

Our first view when we entered through the door.

Closer look at the spacious space we have :) There were three bedrooms in the house. So it is very good for a friends or family gathering over the weekend.

Our big living room

There is an outdoor dining area/balcony with BBQ facilities. You can buy a BBQ pack (with meats and BBQ equipment) from the vineyard owners and have your own BBQ!

We received a complimentary breakfast kit (bacon, ham, eggs, break, milk, orange juice) which we could enjoy the next morning with such a good view.

See how happy Chel Chel looks.

Moving on to the bedrooms: The master bedroom where we slept in.

With a view of the vineyard.

The attached bathroom

One of the three bedrooms in the house. I love this room the most because it has a nice big window for the light to shine in every morning. Imagine waking up to such a view every morning!

After taking enough photos of our place, we drove out to Hunter Valley Gardens for lunch. It is a beautiful manicured Gardens with shops, restaurants, and Aqua Golf (shooting balls into water).

We bought a pie each for lunch and ate at a picnic table while soaking up the view of the vast garden.

More photos of the pie because I think Dear took nice pics, haha.

Across the Gardens was this stretch of land and pond with horses reared on it. Very beautiful and we went across to say Hi to the horses.

After that we drove to a couple of wineries to buy wines as gifts and we also visited the town centre where I bought a painting. The first painting I have bought in my life!

One of the wineries we visited. You go in there, ask about any particular bottle of wine you are interested in and the staff will kindly pour you some to try. Talking about wine-hopping!

The other winery we visited. We bought a couple of red wine and dessert wines.

After that we drove back to our villa while stopping over at the convenience stores to grab Magnum ice-cream and potato chips. There are so many flavours of Magnum in Sydney! And the best part is they are cheap when they are on sale.

After unloading our buys from the car, we drove out again to dinner (not before noticing kangeroos jumping in the distant area of the vineyard and trying to walk to find them). The staff recommended us to a nearby restaurant but after figuring out the way to the place in the dark (dusk had fallen by then and the streets had little lighting), we found out that the restaurant was closed. Boo.

We headed back to our villa to look at the restaurants directory that was placed in our living room to figure out who was opened for dinner that night. Seems like most people in Hunter Valley do not eat out for dinner. Lots of restaurants are not opened for dinner.
We found a Japanese restaurant that we wanted to try (craving for rice already!) and drove there. It was pretty packed probably because it was one of the few places that were opened. At first I was worried about driving on the streets which had very dim lighting, but of course, the adventurous Dear dragged me out of the house to go exploring.

The Japanese restaurant we went to. Must have kimonos as decor to stress the Japanese-ness of the place. Jokes aside, the food was actually pretty good for a Western country.

Dear's grilled beef set. The set came with a salad and miso soup too. Prices were not very cheap, I think about S$20, but the food was above expectations. So I guess it is not too high a price to pay for Asian food when you are craving it after spending four days eating pies and chips.

My grilled seafood set, which I thought was pretty generous in the serving.

After the sumptuous dinner, we went back to lounge and watch Masterchef in the living room. Dessert of the night was this new flavour by Magnum that we tried before it was launched months later in Singapore. Yippie.

The fireplace in the living room. Yes, that is a real fire in it. Dear was so amazed.

Warm and snug in the house. Good night!
