Sydney- Day 5

Sydney- Day 5

Back to blogging after a super busy period at work and we were on a 10-day hol in Dec. More on that soon!

Dear has flown off for a business trip (a few days after we returned). Boo hoo! So I'm left here alone in Sg to wait for him to come back to celebrate Christmas. Meantime, I will use my free time to catch up on the back log of posts and plan for Christmas! Yeah!

Coming back to Day 5 of our Aussie trip:

Look at the beautiful view we woke up to in Hunter Valley. Or rather, I woke up first because I had volunteer to cook breakfast for us. The very nice me wanted to reward Dear for the long hours of driving in the road trip.

More of the morning views of the vine yards:

So after slaving away at the stove cooking eggs, bacon, ham, and opening a tin of beans we had bought, breakfast is served! I felt so virtuous. *_*

Nice yummy picture of our sumptious breakfast. Awesome way to start the morning.

More picture taking after breakfast before we checked out. After all, it was dark when we finally came back to the house the night before.

After checking out and buying bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar (which Dear has only used a few drops since he bought it), we continued the road trip to Port Stephens. After the mountains, vineyards, now it is time to hit the beach!

Port Stephens is a popular tourism destination with a strong focus on aquatic activities such as whale and dolphin watching, fishing and recreational boating. Do you know it is named by Captain Cook?

After more than an hour on the road, we arrived at our hotel in Port Stephens.

I love how spacious it is. Got two beds and still has lots of walking space.

There is also a balcony for you to enjoy the ehm, street view. But I suppose it makes it easy for you to give a shout-out to your fellow beach-goers and make new friends. Haha.

The toilet which came with a standing shower that is to the left of the sink.

After placing our luggage in the hotel, we drove to the Fisherman Wharf to get lunch and visit the shops that are famous for selling cheap and delicious seafood.

We ate our lunch here after reading so many raves about the food online.

Entertaining ourselves by taking photos of the seagulls that were waiting to swop down on leftovers on the tables.

We had the fish and chips and seafood fried platter. We thought the food was only all right. Uh oh.

After a below-expectations lunch, we checked out the beach at Fingal Bay. We were there for 15mins? Just to take look see, take photos and then we scrambled into the air-conditioned comfort of our car, hehe.

After we were done with the beach, we drove back to the town area to go on a dolphin-watching cruise. That is the highlight of the stay here!

The harbour area to board the ships. Lots of restaurants and shops along the waters.
Boarding the ship. The captain would introduce the different nature landscape via the telecom on the ship as he steers us through the waters. He would also be responsible for spotting the dolphins, with the help of his crew, and point them our to us.

Out on the waters looking for dolphins! The cruise was a two-hour one and after almost one hour on the sea, there was no dolphin sightings! :(

Until this friendly dolphin appeared! I am so proud that Dear was the first one to spot it as it was swimming in the waves on the side of the boar we were at. So we had fun standing and watching the dolphin following us under our foot.

Our dolphin friend coming up for air.

The sun was setting when the dolphin said bye to us and we headed back to shore.

After having fun on the seas, it was time for dinner and we choose a pizza restaurant along the harbour which looked pretty popular.

The serving was huge and we shared one pizza between us. We strolled back to the hotel to chill in front of the television.

Or rather, Chel Chel chilled in front of the television. Lucky him snatched up one of the two beds by himself. ^ ^ Lights out!
