Me and Dear celebrated our 2nd Valentine's Day. It was nothing grand since we are not very 'Valentine's Day ppl'. Anniversaries and birthdays are more impt to us. And Dear has been working, so he has no time to plan much. He started calling restaurants for reservations only a few days before the V-Day and according to him, a lot of places are already fully booked. For those ppl who calls for gender equality, dun ask why I couldn't plan something instead. I was busy working and hey, I think this is the guy's job after all, haha. I dun need anything too fanciful, so how hard it is for a guy to arrange a dinner right?
In the end, we went to a Jap restaurant in Bugis that Dear's fren told him was nice. We queued for abt 45mins to wait for a seat. Everywhere was real packed man. Dear specially got off work early so that he could spend more time with me. That was very sweet, so I forgive him for his lack of adequate preparations, haha. The restaurant serves modern Jap cuisine, meaning Jap styled food served in a Western style. I thot the food was so-so and although the decor of the place was quite intimate, I find it to be a little noisy as the place was packed.
For our starters, we tried the cheesy potato balls with prawns. It was my favourite dish of the day. The cheese was spread all over the potato balls like a baked dish and the two complement each other so well! Dear ate the main course of the hamburger steak which was quite soft and chewy. I tried the roast chicken with garlic which was very average. Our dessert was mochi with two ice-creams (vanilla and something, corn?) that comes with a wafer stick, which again I felt was quite average though it was recommended by Dear's fren and Dear said it was quite special.

The most special thing about this place? It is this:It's a key that we bring to the cashier to pay the bill. An interesting bill eh?After dinner, we went to the Esplanade to take a little sit by the river. I love going there, sitting with ur loved one, looking at all the city lights and enjoying the wind. Very romantic. It was also one of the first places I brought Dear to when we started dating. : )
So yup, it was a simple night but well, I just wanted to be with Dear, that's all. But hope next time he'll plan something better to surprise me, haha. Now I have to start planning for Dear's bdae in March, heeheehee
