Finally to the zoo shrouded in darkness

We finally make it to the Night Safari! After waiting so long and always getting postponed by wet weather, Dear and I finally went to the Night Safari. But on our way there, it started to rain and we had to stop at the expressway. Lucky the rain subsided a little and we continued on our way, determined not to give up after travelling all the way to ulu Mandai Road.

I wanted to catch the animal show and we went to the theatre to get a seat. The stormy weather continued to haunt us and just as the show was starting, it drizzled! In the end, the show got cancelled and the zoo guide told us to come back for the later show. So Dear and I started our walk on the different trails in the night safari. Imagine carrying an umbrella as u walk and look at the animals. I must say it is a very interesting experience. It was quite dark and we had to try to spot the animals in their 'enclosures'. The emphasis of the design was of 'nature' and the enclosures were built in an open concept in the way that u feel the animals were very near u. Dear was quite worried that the animals could escape and run out from the enclosure! Hee. I tried to take photos but it was too dark and I couldn't use flash cos it would hurt the animals.

We didn't take the tram but the walk and the show itself was quite enough for us to complete before the night safari closes. We went back for the last show and waited quite long cos we had to queue and lucky we did cos there lots of people queuing. The show was quite interesting but I think could be better cos sometimes the animals just come out and run around, without seeming to do anything.

After a quick supper, we went home. The night safari was an eye opener and was a jolt to the senses cos u had to walk in the dark, looking at the animals so near to u- a very diff feel from a zoo. But it's better to go on a weekend where there are more people so that u will not be so scared when u are one of the few ppl wallking on the long dark trail.
