Tucked away in a corner of eastern Singapore lies this place.
The facade of the restaurant. The quirky look is already a good sign of things to come.
The interior of the entrance.
There was also a cupboard of retro ornaments from the 1980s/90s. Yes I did help myself to the sweets : )
Rows of Vespas on display. If only they are rented for a joy ride around the area. LOL.
And the bar counter where all the alcohol is nicely displayed. Customers can buy a miniature version of this Eiffel Tower tap for home use.
If not for the fact that we are currently without a house, I think Dear would have carted one of these home.
And now for the main show. Their signature portobello mushroom fries with truffle mayo was SUPER AWESOME.
The mushroom fries were juicy (from their natural juices, not the oil) and the taste was elevated with the truffle mayo dip. You got to try it to understand the explosion of flavors in the mouth.
My rosti with sausage. What I like about the rosti is that onion bits were included in it and I enjoyed the additional crunch and flavour (but don't worry, there was no pungent onion smell) they brought.
Then again, I know that I am one of the few people who like onions.
The roasted chicken which was the weakest of all the three dishes that we tried. Too little sauce, and the chicken was quite dry.
The saving grace was the truffle fries that accompanied it. Non-oily and not over powering either.
After the meal, take some time to walk around the restaurant. There are some nice outdoor features, like mini playgrounds, to take a look at and snap photos of.
There was even these whimsical carousel horses!
But beware of the mosquitoes which are quick to bite. In the five minutes that Mr B and I were out there, we received not less than three large mosquito bites.
