Some couples put aside a fixed day of the week for a date night. We don't have such a practice although we always hang out on Friday nights to celebrate the start of the weekend.
What kind of food does this place serves? Here's the answer:
Intrigued, we decided to give it a try although I must warn you now that it can get quite warm and stuffy in the restaurant because it is ventilated mainly by fans and our weather is really unbearable nowadays.
Throw in the heat from the steamboats and you will not only find the air warm but also being perfumed by the smoky fumes.
But we have never tried the Thai BBQ before and decided to give it a go since the prices are relatively reasonable as well. It was more than $30 for a set for two people.
First, the sauces. There are three grades: spicy, medium spicy and least spicy. While I don't find a big difference among the three, Dear chose to dip his meats in only the least spicy chilli.
Step one when the grill and food arrives: place the pieces of pork lard on the grill and wait for it to melt. The oils will grease the grill and slip into the soup below the grill where you do the steamboat. Talk about an overflow of porky goodness.
Our 2-persons set.
It was an interesting experience and the food was fairly decent but I wouldn't come back here again because of the heat. And I can't get rid of the image of the pork lard getting stuck in my arteries after drinking it up from the soup. So this place is not for those fussy about fats.
