Japan Day 10

Japan Day 10

We started the second last day of our trip with a brunch at Ichiran Ramen. We have heard much about it since our previous Japan trip.

The concept was interesting. The dining area is divided into cubicles and you pass your order to an waiter who is working behind the curtains at your cubicle. This minimizes contact with the waiter and all you see of the waiter is a pair of hands darting in and out from under the curtain. Pretty cool for people who don't like to engage with others.

My cubicle. Fill in the order form, press the bell, pass the form to the pair of hands that reaches in to collect the booth .

The pair of hands soon delivered my noodles. You can choose how firm you want your noodles to be, as well as customize the soup.

Free flow of hard boil eggs are provided in a basket at the cubicle. I pretty like the ramen here but dear found it so so. Dear said I liked it because the ramen was pretty spicy after I have requested the spice level of the ramen to be above average.

Next stop was an hour journey to the Doreamon museum to learn about its origin and creator

The detailed Japanese even have sculptures of Doreamon and his sister to welcome you after you come out from the train station to take the free shuttle bus to the museum.

Details in the bus such as the door bell are taken care of.

Nice touch on the seats

There was a pretty long queue at the entrance of the museum. We were surprised as we visited on a weekday. Think they let people in batch by batch so that the place is not overly cramped. There were some figurines, dressed in Christmas wear, on display outside the entrance to distract you during the wait.

Most of the exhibits were focused on the creation process and evolution of the Doreamon cartoon. We soon came to a rest area where you can read Doreamon comics in Jap.

One of the things we find astounding about Japan is that even the kids seem well behaved in public. No crying or fussing, even when we were in Disneyland. I even googled to understand why. Turns out Jap mothers teach their children early about behaving in public and uses emotional manipulation to get to get them to cooperate.

So we found it entertaining to find this boy kicking up a fuss when his mother and sister disallowed him to play with the exhibit. He laid down on the floor , wailing. The mother and sister continued to have dun and ignore his cries. Haha.

Our lunch was a simple burger at the cafe which didn't have much choices.

Doreamon's favourite food for dessert

The cafe was beside an outdoor area with large scale figures that you can take photos with. I think the photo-taking was a highlight of the trip lol.

I always wished I have a door which can transport me to anywhere I wan.

We left for Yokohama after the photo-taking. Today was the final of the Club World Cup championship!

For sightseeing cum dinner, we visited the Yokohama ramen museum after arriving in Yokohama.

The insides are modeled after old Japan

There were a few ramen shops here. We didn't know which one is good and chose one with more people eating inside.

So so only lor

We did buy some instant ramen from the merchandise store before we left. They are all in our stomachs now haha.

We made our way to the stadium for the final showdown!

Dear was busy watching the match while I was busy taking photos haha. It was a coincidence that a Singapore family was seated beside me and the girl told the boy "the bear is so cute". They didn't know that I understand them! HAHA

Unfortunately, despite Chel's support, Chelsea played a bad game and lost. :(

We can only walk back to the train station in silence and settled on a Yoshinoya supper near our hotel.

Yoshinoya tastes better in Japan!

Got curry rice somemore.

Lights out liao!
