Dear and I took time off last Sun for brunch. We decided to go to Maison Ikkoku at Arab Street. Heavy rain fell the whole morning. I had met Dear at Lavender MRT for him to pick me up and I was very tempted to go somewhere where the car park was sheltered.
The adventurous Dear insisted that we should continue with our plans as there will be lesser people at the cafe because of the heavy rain. Ok lor, I follow him.
We finally got a table after abt 15mins. The crowd thinned out after we got a table.I like the decor of the place. Feels very American to me. The place seems to be a hangout for Caucasians. Almost every table has a white guy. Dear says maybe it shows that the coffee here is good.
Mocha is our default order. Dear said it was not bad.
Our mains. Essentially they were two sets of egg benedicts, just that one came with ham and the other came with portobello mushrooms. I always feel very jelak when eating this kind of typical brunch dishes, so I really like the touch of serving water melon balls in the salad. I know that sounds so lame, haha.
Perhaps it was the romantic feeling of hiding indoors from the rain, it felt pretty nice chilling in the cafe. When we left, the rain had almost stopped. Yeah!
