Mini moon- Bkk Day 2

Mini moon- Bkk Day 2

After a good night's sleep, we were ready to rise and shine! For me, I was excited to start my shopping, hehe. For most days, we slept till we

We took the hotel tuk tuk to the main road and took a cab to breakfast.

The streets around Pratunam market. Guess what is for breakfast?

I had planned to eat the famous wanton me at SabX2 since it is just opposite Platinum Mall which we wanted to visit. But when I said it was famous, I didn't expect the crowds of tourists that had descended this place!

We were shocked to see that there was quite a long queue in front of us when we reached the place. Previously we could just walk in and get a seat. Now we had to wait for around 15 min in the hot sun :( Dear said it is the last time that we are eating here, so sad.

I started taking photos as we were waiting outside the shop. The shop is famous for two items- its wanton mee and braised pig trotters. The stove at two sides of the shop cooks these two dishes respectively. This is the pig trotters cooking area.

This side is the wanton mee cooking area. And the cook is a stylo looking chef. Don't say his noodles are not good or be careful he beats you up.m

Finally we made it into the shop. All the tourists with their families waiting for their food. I observed that there are a lot of Hong Kong and Taiwanese tourists in Bkk. And they will fight with you to clear out the supermarket.

The wanton mee that we had came for. I think it is delicious cos of the generous portion of pork oil and lard mixed with the noodles.

After breakfast, it was time for shopping! We crossed the overhead bridge and went over to Platinum Mall. No photos becos as usual, we are too busy for photos. What I can tell you is that lunch time cam soon and we went to the food court for our usual oyster omelet fix.

The renovated food court

Dear went to buy the oyster omelet and durian rice pudding while I went to get our favorite spicy drumlets from KFC.

This was really the show of the meal. We love love love these drumlets and kept eating it when we have the opprtunity. So wish it is also sold here in Singapore!

After almost a full day of shopping, we went to the tailor for my fitting session. Then we went back to the hotel to get dinner before a well-earned massage to sooth our bodies which were tired from all the shopping. Lol.

The dinner plan was to eat at Soi Polo Chicken near our hotel to try its famous roast chicken. When I said near, it was not the kind of nearness that you can just walk to on foot. It was around 10 mins away. We thought maybe we can try to ask our hotel tuk tuk to send us there.

We went to the reception to ask and to our sadness, they told us we have to make our own way there. Then one of the staff said that the restaurant offers delivery for only 50 baht and took out an order form that we could use to order our food over the phone through the hotel.

Problem solved! We were so happy! Although it was kinda sad that we could not experience the restaurant and had to eat inside the hotel room, I think we were too lazy to go out.

The food order form was in Thai and we asked the staff to tell us what was on it and what was good there. They were very helpful and even googled the pictures of some dishes to show us. Very cute. They helped us call to make the order and helpfully told us to wait in our room and they will get someone to bring us plates and cutlery. I felt so well taken care of by them haha.

Another best thing is, the food came super fast. I was worried that we had to wait a while cos I was getting hungry. But it only took 10 mins for the food to be delivered and brought up to our room.Yeah!

Our dinner: roasted chicken, grilled pork shoulder and basil pork. It was our first time eating basil pork in Bkk and the flavours are quite different from the version we eat here in Singapore. The roasted chicken was pretty good. What makes the food taste even better was that the price was relatively cheap. Only around $$20 for our meal, including delivery.

After we finished dinner, we rested a while before going out for a massage near our hotel. I opted for the foot massage while Dear did the Thai massage. The massage felt so good cos it has been a while since I got a massage. Lovely end to the day :)
