Prawn Noodle at Chinatown

This is a hole in the wall coffee shop at Keong Saik Road. Frankly the place looks quite unappetizing from the outside.

But like the saying goes: hidden tiger, crouching dragon. The place is famous for their unique prawn noodles. The soup looks fiery red and the prawns are huge (since a bowl costs $14).

We decided to eat here on our way to visiting Dear's granny in the hospital on a weekday night.

There is a strong Balachan fragrance in the soup, which is slightly grainy from the paste they use.

I wasn't too impressed by the prawn noodles although I found it a tasty alternative to the usual prawn noodles. It doesn't justify a $14 price tag.

Dear enjoyed it, though. A little indulgence once in a while makes life feels beautiful. : )
