Dim sum- Victor's Kitchen

Dear and I have started attending a basic Japanese course to pick up some language skills for our upcoming trip and because I have always wanted to learn the language.

So now we have to do homework after class :p But the good thing is our language school is beside Sunshine Plaza where there's a few good eateries that we can settle our lunch at.

Finally I can introduce Dear to these places!

The first one that we tried was the famous Victor's Kitchen, which is famed for their dimsum. Even at 3pm plus after our class, there was still a pretty long queue outside the eatery!

Prices are a bit steep here but the quality of the food is above average too. One thing of note: it's cramped and the service stuff can be pretty grouchy. It's really like stepping into a Hong Kong eatery.

Packed during meal times. We had to help the servers pass the dim sum down the table.

We also got nagged at by the stuff when there was some confusion after they told us to change tables.

Here's sharing some of the notable dim sum here. Their carrot cake is different: steamed with a savoury sauce, and served with an anchovies dip that is slightly spicy to give a kick.

Custard buns, custard buns, custard buns. The filling was smooth and thick with salted egg goodness.

And the lotus rice, which is a great way to fill up the stomach. It's aromatic with chunks of chicken, but it can do with more ingredients.
