Wimbly Lu

We were in the Serangoon area to watch the Bond movie Skyfall last weekend, and I chose to return to Wimbly Lu for a leisurely brunch.

Besides the Coastal Settlement, this is my next favourite brunch place although the menu may be limited. But the decor is so pretty and there are little people here, which just makes brunch seems even more leisurely. And the service is good here too. The young servers here are courteous and look pretty happy working here i.e. no stoned or black faces here.

The interior of the place. With a little garden at the back of the restaurant. Magazines and newspapers are provided here for reading.

I tried the seafood 'sandwich'. Portion is small and it is literally two flattened pieces of toasted bread with a seafood filling of tuna and thousand island sauce. I'm sure there are small bits of seafood in the filling as well but their flavours and texture are not noticeable.

The waffles here are one of the best in Singapore. It is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I like that the waffle is thick enough to give a nice bite.

And Dear dropped his phone in the toilet when we went over to Nex for the movie. :( He is now itching to buy a screen replacement set to DIY. I guess he found a new fun thing to do, despite the unfortunate event!
