It's Disneyland day! We woke up at a shocking late time at 9plus and ate a hurried breakfast at the eatery below our hotel.
Warning: Super long post ahead. We used up 4 AA batteries in Disneyland!
We took a cab to Disneyland. Heartpain at the cost, but no choice, we had 3 big luggages
Woohoo! Finally at Disney Hollywood Hotel!
Our tickets!
Welcome to HK Disneyland!
Even the roads are imprinted with Mickey
Lots of nice buildings at the Town Square area and lots of merchandise shops there. Out to earn your money as soon as you step in there! But the merchandise are so cute and irresistible!
Lots of characters for photo-taking sessions. Hey Pooh, why are u snickering with ur paw?
At one of the pavillions, I saw the back of Eeyore and wanted to rush to take photo with it. But sadly, it walked away and never returned. Instead Pooh came out to take its place. I was really certain that I saw Eeyore! Wasted chance, I really wanted to see Eeyore too!
They really are 2 crazy dogs! And Goofy is always around to take photos, guess he must be very free, haha
The sweet Minnie and of cos there was Mickey too
Minnie's home in the park. So pink and pretty right! I also wan this kind of hse but of cos with all the proper facilities of a modern hse
And Daisy. I never really like Daisy and Donald but they really looked cute, esp with their big butts. Oops!
After roaming through the Town Square, we went to Adventure Land. Tarzan is the star here.
There was also a jungle ride that was quite fun though a bit cheesy. Lucky I convinced Dear to take it or we would have missed out on it.
The sun was like super hot! First time in my life I had to take out an umbrella to hide from the sun and I became charcoal after the day. All our photos suddenly looked so bright becos of the bright sunlight.
We watched the Donald Duck show which was absolutely fantastic and definitely almost the best attraction in the park. Love the 4D effects and water splashing and cold breeze and apple pie smell.
We were lucky that there were relatively few ppl in the park and we didn't have to queue too long for all our rides.
And we watch the Disneyland parade. All thanks to me, we found a nice spot to watch it. Pity these performers who have to jump and run and smile in the heat in their costumes.
Dun noe wat this monster is, but the bubbles are pretty
Donald duck shaking and dancing!
And army soldiers. So poor thing to wear all that full army suit and make up
We took this lousy 'gentle boat ride' at the It's a Small World attraction. Very lame but like what Dear said, it's a good resting break after walking around in the heat
Of cos, there are also princesses that you can take photos with in Fantasy Land
Dear thinks that these ang moh foreign talents must be highly paid
Pooh Bear Adventure Ride!
Another gentle ride but well, I love Pooh and his frens, so not bad lah, haha. Love the honey pot cars
There's also Space Land or something like that. I saw the robot but it went off again when I wanted to chase it to ask it to take photo with Dear, bleah
This Space Land is really a joke, we can see the other side of it even when we entered the land. Yes it's so small.
Dear wanted to go onto the Go-kart but there were too many ppl and we didn't wan to wait. We went on the Space Mountain ride though, it was quite scary and perhaps the only more adult ride in the whole park.
We also saw Woody and his girlfriend from Toy Story taking photos with guests.
And also another white fluffy female cat that I dun noe the name.
And and Chip & Dale! We would have wanted to take photos with them but they were wearing awful Chinese looking tops so we drop the idea. Ya, so mean of us.
We also caught the Golden Mickey show, supposedly one of the star attraction of the park but well, all that is impressive is how athletic the performers are. Otherwise, very cheesy I think.Nice lighting at night. But then hor, isn't it very not environmentally friendly. Esp when we walk out of the park at night, all the decor were lighted up beautifully. Very nice but they must use a lot of electricity everyday.
The carousel horses. U noe all the romantic connatations of it and how in dramas, couples also like to sit on it? Well, I finally got my chance to try it!
And the brilliant fireworks at the end of the day!
We got a nice front position and with all the music accompaniment, it was indeed very magical. Definitely the best fireworks experience I've ever had. No squeezing with crowds (everyone was sitting down properly), unobstructed view, long special fireworks effect and the Disney feel.
After the fireworks, it was abt 8.30pm. Time for dinner! We haven't eaten anything in the day except a hot dog bun! Dear was so very hungry
Quite a simple looking restaurant but the food, was quite horrid in my opinon
Our mushroom soup which was the only decent thing we ate. And also, I guess it feels so good to have warm soup and bread after a day of hunger and exercise.
After dinner, it was time to check in at our hotel! Yippie!
The frontdesk guy serving us was super gay. He asked Dear for his contact number and birthday to verify Dear's identity. And when Dear told the guy his birthday, the guy looked so happy that Dear got it right and smiled a very gay smile at Dear while nodding his haed vigourously and shaking his shoulders at the same. We had a good laugh over it. Maybe Dear likes to attract the gays?
Our room! With a big Disney display on the wall
The bathroom
Even the soap is Disney-wrapped. But I would be more impressed if it was carved in the shape of Mickey
Best thing abt the toilet is the shower curtains. I think it's very nice.
Dear took a nice long shower in the bath tub. I had volunteered to let him bath first becos I was too tired to bathe. In the end, while waiting for my turn to bathe, I fell asleep on the sofa, heehee
Quite a formal decor I felt. Maybe to fit in with the hotel's themes of old Hollywood glamour
The weirdest thing was that they dun provide room service. Reason? Becos they have a 24-hr eating place in the hotel. Sounds like quite a duh reason to me. Big minus point for the hotel.
They also have such adorable slippers for guests to bring home!
The pool at our hotel. It's supposed to be piano-shaped.
The hotel also has a whirl pool but too bad we can't use the facilities as they are closed at night. After checking in, we went to explore our hotel. We paid so much, so of cos must look see around to make the full use of our stay.
It's Hollywood! Only that it's Hollywood the hotel, wahaha
Bottle up any drink, paste a Disney logo on it and sell it at an exhorbitant price, haha
There's also Disney pudding. We bought it. Normal tasting.
And also all sorts of Disney ice cream for the kids
There was quite a nice sea view with the twinkling lights of the buildings at the opposite shore. But too bad the gate to the pathway was locked and we couldn't get a closer view.
Next time, I would love to try the other Disney hotel!
And this is the Eeyore we brought back from Disneyland!
Or rather Dear forced me to buy it back. I liked it very much! It's very cute!
And not to be biased, Santa Oh, foreign talent from Ocean Park! Sitting tog with my other soft toys
I told Dear, I really have no more space for all these furry friends anymore! But...I like my HK eeyore!
